Huge Thank You to all who Supported our Annual Fall Plant Sale

A huge thank you to all our 40 or so volunteers and our many members and the public who came to shop and support our Annual Fall Plant Sale. This is our primary fundraiser to raise funds to support our many educational programs, field trips, free Guide to the Native Plants of Northern Neck and other brochures, our Demonstration Gardens, Scholarships and book donations for Libraries to name a few of our most popular programs.

We had a spectacular Fall Plant Sale this year that was bigger and better than ever. We had nearly 2,100 plants for sale – most grown by our own volunteers - an absolutely amazing accomplishment with over 135 species for a very diverse offering. We grossed over $14,000 more than ever before. Every year we seem to grow our sales in so many ways to accomplish our mission - to encourage residents of Northern Neck and surrounding areas to plant beautiful native plants to promote biodiversity and support wildlife, and to educate the public about the beauty and many ecological benefits of native plants. We are heartened by the incredible enthusiasm and demand for our beautiful and ecologically functional native plants. Several of our shoppers commented that they love the diverse selection of plants we offer but what really sets our sale apart is the amount of education and advice we provide our customers in selecting the perfect palette of plants for their gardens, whether supporting pollinators, replacing invasives, filling a dry shady area with vibrant groundcovers, to finding plants that prevent erosion on steep banks to creating healthy shorelines. We want everyone to have beautiful and ecologically functional native landscapes! We also handed out our newly updated Native Plant Guide revised this summer and printed just in time for our sale.

Thank you to all that helped make this such a fun successful event!
