NN VNPS had scheduled a orchid walk at Hickory Hollow for tomorrow, Thursday, May 7 but inclement weather is predicted and therefore the walk is cancelled.  We apologize but appreciate the sorely needed rain.

It may be rescheduled within the next two weeks should conditions allow.  An email announcement will be sent when a decision is reached.  Send comments/questions to nnvnps@gmail.com.

Kevin and Betsy will be offering a “Pop up” field trip for our members to Hickory Hollow’s Cabin Swamp to see the Kentucky Lady Slipper Orchids along with the Purple Twayblade orchids and other wildflowers on Thursday, May 7 at 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

I just got a photo of them beginning to open so they should be in peak bloom then – quite a bit early this year as so many other wildflowers are.

We will not be holding a field trip on May 14 or 21 as previously mentioned.
